The Brussels metropolitan area has about 2.5M inhabitants, hence being about the same size as the greater Vancouver area. Here's a picture of the last bit of city wall - which was founded in 979 AD. |

| The atomium is the landmark symbol of the 1958 World Fair, and offers a good view of the city. It has been renovated in 2007. In the vertical there is an elevator, but some (?) of the other connecting pipes contain escalators (see pic): |
