Belgium: Sterrebeek

From January 2008 until August 2009, we lived in the Voskapelstraat in Sterrebeek, a suburb on the northeast side of Brussels, a small town which is part of the Zaventem municipality. The area has a little bit of hilliness to it. We lived in an U-shaped apartment building, where we had a 2BR duplex on the garden side. Here's a view of the bottom part of the U. The big brown doors lead to the gardens surrounded by the building:
Here's what you see when you come from the highway (2 minutes away):
Turning left brings you into the street we lived on, you need to enter the gate at the blue sign (speedbump - but people take it with speeds up to 60-80km/h anyways), just after that is the ramp to the underground parkade:
Looking back from the front door:
View from further down the street, a car just passing the ramp:
View of the living room before we had moved in:

Looking from the bedroom window, the last bit of snow:
Nice views after a good bit of rain, but with a sunset peaking through:

The building varies a bit in style (large patios on the other side, with private gardens), seperated from our side by the white wall:

On a unusually sunny day in October, we also saw a newer model of the car we drive in Canada: Nissan Maxima 3.0L V6 (here equipped with that same engine, although gas is double the price in Belgium, and most people drive diesels):

There is a nice playground at walking distance from our place:

Next to which are a war monument and small church:
