Europe: Geneva
After visiting Zurich and Bern, the one place in Switzerland to visit on my list was Geneva. It is the second most populous city of Switzerland, and by far the most cosmopolitan. Its metropolitan area (~800,000 people) lies partly in France, which is actually where we stayed at a hotel. We arrived in the evening to enjoy a nice sunset. The Jet d'Eau was unfortunately out of order at the time, but we'd get to see it later though:

After a stroll @ 29degrees C, we looked for a bit more shadow in the "old town" and some refreshment (place du Bourg de Four):

The next day we started at the Quai du Seujet, and we would finally see the fountain. The same day I also swam in the lake at "Bains de Paquis" - it was 12degrees C, a little too cool for our son Astin, who went in from a slide and came out screaming :-)

We also went up the Mont Salève, from where you can look over Geneva, it's lake and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately you cannot see the Mont Blanc from there...:
